Silverwood Lake - Miller Canyon Dirt Bike OHV Area

Ok, this one will be short as I fell and broke my wrist and a rib on this trip. The area is nice and mountainous with pine trees and oak scrub.

This is part of a large network of off-road trails that connect throughout this portion of the San Bernardino Mountains. There are a variety of trails from this area for hiking, street legal off-road vehicles, and OHVs such as motocross bikes, trail motorcycles, ATVs and other green or red sticker vehicles.

Iwill post some pics ans information as I heal up and figure out if my camera survived my crash.

For now, here's a vicinity map showing Lake Silverwood and the nearby staging area at Miller Road. Many call this camp Miller or Miller Canyon. The next image is a zoom in of the staging and local area. This view gives an idea of the terrain and local trail network. But again, this hooks up with Cleghorn Road that takes you down to the 15. I've also been told this area connects with trails leading all the way to Big Bear Lake. Just stick to the designated trails and be couteous of other users, I'd hate to lose this resource, it's a great place to ride and I look forward to going back.

One more thing. My accident was due to the ground being frozen. Always think about the possible conditions and what they mean for your safety. While there was very little snow, it had been cold the night before and we were getting an early start. The ground did not look frozen, but it was hard and slick in places.
